How to read the Mercedes chassis plate on the door jamb
Find and read the chassis / type plate so you can order body and interior parts with the correct W-code.

Where it is
Open the driver’s door. The metal or sticker plate on the B-pillar / jamb lists manufacturer data including the model type.
Photograph it in focus — that photo is enough for our desk to confirm most body-part orders.
What we care about for parts
The type designation that maps to W205, W213, W463, etc., plus your model year.
If the plate is missing or unreadable, use the VIN from the windscreen and registration docs.
